Eastenders Who Dies In B&B Fire Christmas 2011? Updated

When Dr Evil (that's Yusef to you and me) first arrived on the square, Zainab was petrified. And she had every right to be, Yusef has slowly taken away everything Zainab holds dear, with his scheming and manipulative ways. Now Zainab is officially his wife again, and the evil Doctor has her completely in his control. Yusef is very unhinged and no one is safe from him, not even himself.

Yusef becomes increasingly abusive towards Zainab in the run up to Christmas. First he takes her mobile phone off her so she cant contact anyone, and then after a run in with Jane and Masood, Yusef tells Zainab that she should just give Kamil to Masood so he has no hold over them anymore. Zainab is stunned, but when Yusef reveals that Kamil will always be an outcast to him, a disgusted Zainab lashes out at him. This angers Yusef even more, and he responds by hitting Zainab, then coldly warns her never to raise her hand to him again or she will be sorry. A scared Zainab realises she has made a big mistake in marrying Yusef, and later she tries to run away. Zainab goes to Massood for help but he wont listen to her, and slams the door in Zainabs face.

Later Yusef decides they need to leave Walford immediately, and announces that he is taking Zainab and Kamil to Pakistan that very day. A panicked Zainab desperately tries to find a way to escape him, but with Yusef watching her every move she knows she will need to be clever. Once at the Airport, Zainab discreetly chucks her passport in a nearby bin. When they get to the check in desk, Zainab acts shocked at loosing her Passport, and they are unable to get on the plane. Zainab briefly feels that she has won, but things are about to get ten times worse. Yusef is angry that they are still in Walford and blames Zainab for loosing her Passport and tells her he will be ordering a new one right away. Zainab goes upstairs for a bath, but when she returns downstairs, she discovers that Yusef has taken Kamil away. Zainab is distraught when Yusef refuses to tell her where he is. Zainab pleads with him to return her little boy, but Yusef is enjoying watching her suffer, Yusef tells her that he will return Kamil when she learns to be more obedient.

However its not long before other members of the family notice Kamils not there, and Zainab is forced to lie to her family, telling them that Kamil is with Bushra. Later Masood turns up, wanting to spend some time with his son. And is outraged that Zainab would leave Kamil with Bushra rather than him, and believes she is trying to stop him spending time with his Son. Zainab wants to tell Masood whats going on but she fears what Yusef may do to Kamil if she does. Massood phones the police to see if there is something he can do to see Kamil, and when the Police show up at Zainabs house, Yusef is forced to give them the address of Kamils wear-abouts, however he makes sure that Zainab doesn't see the address. Later the Police tell Masood that Kamil is safe and well, and refuse to get involved in personal family disputes. With no other option, Massood starts planning to snatch Kamil away from Bushra's house.

Zainab is at breaking point, desperately trying to find out where her Son is, and continues to follow Yusefs orders in the hope that he will reunite her with Kamil. Meanwhile Massood finds a note from Zainab asking for his help and after some persuasion from Denise, they put a plan in to action. Denise goes over to Zainabs house and says she really needs her help at the shop. Put on the spot, Yusef agrees to let Zainab go for one hour. When Zainab gets to the shop she is shocked to see Massood there waiting for her. Zainab tells Masood everything, but when she reveals she has no idea where Kamil is, a frustrated Masood grabs her. But as he grabs Zainab, her clothes slip slightly revealing some nasty bruising to her body. A distraught and scared Zainab begs Masood not to send her back to Yusef. But he persuades her that she needs to act normal with the Yusef until they have their son back safe and sound. Later Zainab hears Yusef saying he is collecting Kamil that afternoon, and she sends Masood a text using Tamwars phone to tell him.

Later Yusef tells Zainab he will take her to collect Kamil, Zainab is over the moon, until Yusef nastily tells her that he cant be manipulated. Meanwhile Denise has seen Yusef pushing a pram into Zainabs house, and tells Massood that Kamil is home. Masood sneaks into the house to rescue both Zainab and Kamil, but Zainab tells him that Kamil is not there and he must leave immediately. Later Masood notices there is no one in at Zainabs house, and feeling worried he dashes over to the Arghe Bhaji. Afia tells him that her Dad and Zainab have gone to collect Kamil and she even gives him the address that she saw her Dad write down earlier on. Denise and Massood then dash off to rescue them. Meanwhile Yusef has lured Zainab to a restaurant, along with her young son Kamil, where he trys forcing her to go to Pakistan. Since Zainab and Masood joined forces to out smart Yusef, they have started to rekindle their old passion. Will they end up getting back together? And its not long before Yusef realises that the two of them, have been scheming behind his back, which can only been danger for everyone.

Christmas Day / Boxing Day

When Zainab finally stands up to Yusef, the unhinged Doctor is tipped right over the edge, and is out for deadly revenge.

Meanwhile Denise and Kim have organised a Christmas party over at the B&B, where all the residents gather to celebrate the festivities. Masood has a big showdown with Yusef after he discovers that the evil doctor has drugged Zainab. but Yusef manages to escape Masoods anger. When Zainab comes round, her and Masood get back together, but the worse part is yet to come. Masood goes over to the B&B to collect his things, and finds Yusef sat in his room waiting for him, along with a can of petrol and a box of matches. Masood mocks the evil doctor about his second failed marriage, and Yusef responds by telling him how he lit the fire that almost killed Zainab years ago. Soon enough, a fight ensues leaving Masood unconscious. Yusef then lights the fire and leaves his rival for dead in his ultimate revenge. Luckily Shirley and Ben spot the flames, believing that the fire has been started by Phil, and with the help of Christian they manage to put out the flames and save Masood from near death. But as all the water drips over the house, it gets onto some exposed electrics causing it to spark. And because of the fireworks that Patrick has been storing in the house, the B&B explodes leaving Yusef, Masood, Tamwar, Phil and Denise all trapped inside.

Yusef had no idea that his actions would cause an explosion, he is smugly watching the explosion from outside, and revelling in Zainabs obvious terror, when she realises the man she loves could now be dead. Zainab spots Yusef and begins to attack him, but when Yusef mocks her even more, Zainab wants to punish him and so lies that Afia is in the burning building. As predicted, Yusef runs back into the building to save his only daughter. Afia is actually at the restaurant looking for an upset Tamwar, but when someone overhears Zainab saying Afia is in the building, word quickly spreads to Tam, and he runs into the B&B to save his wife, while a horrified Zainab can only look on.

Meanwhile inside the building, Yusef can hear Afia screaming and runs in and out of the rooms shouting her name, as he walks into the bedroom, he spots Afia outside and realises that Zainab has had one over on him. As he grins to himself, the whole first floor collapses and we see Yusef being plunged 10 feet in to the flames. In the chaos many residents will be injured trying to escape. Phil Mitchell is rushed to hospital and left fighting for his life after saving Denise's life, although this doesn't stop Ms Fox giving the police the USB stick containing Phil's confession. As the flames quickly spread, Masood manages to get out but is speechless when he realises his Son is still inside. As the Masood clan beg the fire brigade to get Tamwar out, he appears screaming and covered in flames, we see him led on the floor almost lifeless as the flames are put out. Zainab is beside herself at seeing her baby so badly hurt, but will she ever confess that it was her lie, that made him run into the fire in the first place??

Eastenders have built a replica set at Elstree Studio's where they have been filming the fire scenes. Eastenders say "This is the biggest fire that Eastenders have ever seen, the disaster will effect most the families in one way or another." The fire will not only cause death, it will cause divorce and destruction.

Rumours were circling that Pat Evans will die in the fire on Boxing Day, however Pat does not pass away until New Year. Show Bosses said that they did not want Pat to exit in a grizzly death, they wanted her to have a dignified send off.

Tamwar will be badly disfigured in the fire, and have to undergo extensive plastic surgery. Tamwar suffers severe scaring to his face which causes the young lad depression. Although Afia vows to support her husband, she struggles to cope with Tamwar's depression, and the guilt she feels, at it all being down to her own Father. This puts a huge strain on Tamwar and Afia's young marriage, and it looks like they could be heading for divorce.

Meanwhile Kim Fox's insurance company will not pay out for the B&B as she had dodgy fireworks stored in there. Patrick is racked with guilt, as he is the one that was storing them there. And eventually he sees no other option but to hand himself into the police. But will he take Alfie down with him??
